List Of Footballers And Coaches Who Have Quit From Russian Clubs After The Attack On Ukraine

The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine entered it's 8th day. Russia has so far been hit with several sanctions and suspensions both from other nations and in the sporting world. Also several footballers and coaches has resigned and terminated their contracts with Russian clubs as they protest the injustice on Ukraine. They are:

1. Yaroslav Rakitskiy: the former Ukrainian international terminated his contract with Russian club, Zenit Saint Petersburg as he protests the invasion of his home country.

2. Markus Gisdol: the German born coach resigned his managerial position with Russian club side, Locomotiv Moscow after 4 months on the job as a protest on the invasion of Ukraine by the Vladimir Putin led country. When asked of his reason for resigning, he said I can't work in a club where the country is killing Innocent souls.

3. Daniel Farke: in protest of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the former Norwich City manager resigned his position as the manager of Russian club, Krasnodar after signing his contract in January.

4. Andriy Voronin: the Ukraine international who featured for both Liverpool football club and Mainz during his playing days has also called it quit as the assistant coach of Russian club, Dynamo Moscow. In his words"I cannot work in a country that is bombing my homeland, if I were in Ukraine right now, i'd probably have a gun in my hands too".
