Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has asked Nigerians not to support or vote for some presidential aspirants who claimed their nomination forms were purchased for them by groups. DAILY POST recalls that the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, former Anambra Governor, Peter Obi and other aspirants had claimed that some groups purchased their Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, nomination form for them. But Obasanjo, who spoke during a colloquium to mark the 61st birthday of Pastor Itua Ighodalo in Lagos, said the aspirants lied to Nigerians and should not be voted in the forthcoming presidential election. President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a message to Nigerians, regarding the shortage of petrol and electricity in the country. Buhari, who apologized, expressed sincere regrets for the inconvenience caused to citizens of the country following a prolonged shortage of petroleum products, something that the administration has successfully averted in its seven years in office. BY EKENE OBI The Federal Government on Tuesday assured that the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, would be called off soon, saying it was taken aback by the renewed strike which university teachers embarked on February 14, 2022. Addressing the resumed conciliation meeting with the Union, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, said the government was surprised ASUU negated the understanding and assurances it gave through the Nigerian Inter-Religious Council, NIREC, led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar and the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev.
