Police have shared a picture of a university student who was found murdered in her university halls.

Sabita Thawani, 19, has been named by police, although formal identification has not happened, as the student who was killed at Arbour House in London.

Metropolitan Police say her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Officers were called to the scene at around 5.10am on Saturday to reports of a woman suffering serious injuries.

Police and medics attended but the woman, who was a student at City, University of London, was pronounced dead.

It comes as police launched an urgent appeal for information to find a man they wish to speak to and released two images of him.

Police rescue ‘kidnappers’ from jungle justice in Oyo

The Police Command in Oyo State has rescued two suspects, who allegedly attempted to kidnap a 9-year-old girl. The command made this known in a statement by its spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, on Monday in Ibadan. Osifeso said that the command’s operatives who were on patrol on Sunday, around Alakia Adelubi axis, Ibadan, at about 9.20 a.m. responded to a distress call on the “execution of jungle justice”. The suspects were alleged to have attempted to abduct a 9-year-old female, “Ope”, who was on her way to church. He said that preliminary investigations revealed that the girl was in the company of her mother, one Afolabi Modupe, and other siblings when the two suspects attempted to seize her from her mother’s grip.
