APC cancels NEC meeting

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cancelled the proposed emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 17. The decision to cancel the meeting may not be unconnected to the  letter written by President Muhammadu Buhari , which directed Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni to return as the chairman of the caretaker committee. Recall that the acting chairman of the Caretaker Committee and the Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello, had summoned the emergency meeting. The emergency meeting was supposed to ratify decisions taken in respect of the forthcoming national convention of the party. The National Secretary of the party, Sen. Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC, has reacted angrily to the fracas involving Amb. Bianca Ojukwu, widow of late Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and wife of former Anambra Governor, Ebelechukwu Obiano. DAILY POST had reported that Mrs. Obiano had confronted Ojukwu’s wife at the inauguration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo as Anambra Governor, leading to a physical combat.
