Goodluck Jonathan Disgraced Himself By Saying He Is Considering Whether To Be President- Pa Adebanjo

Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the Afenifere leader has criticized former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for welcoming the idea that he should contest for the next president after President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.

According to him, it is unfortunate that Goodluck Jonathan allowed himself to be disgraced by saying that he is considering and consulting whether to become President or not.

Pa Ayo Adebanjo's words were, "The unfortunate thing is that President Goodluck Jonathan allowed himself to be disgraced by mentioning the fact that, 'I'm considering whether to be President'; for what? Whom are you consulting?"

His comments stemmed from the fact that there had been agitations for a person from the Southeast to become president in 2023, as it was the turn of the Igbos to produce a ruler for Nigeria.

According to him, Afenifere, a Yoruba socio-political organization, the Middle Belt Forum, and the Pan-Niger Delta Forum are among the organizations that reiterated their calls and support for the Igbo presidency because it will indicate equity, justice, and fairness in 2023.

These organizations came to the unanimous conclusion that if the political class and military generals could agree that the 1999 presidency should be zoned to the Southwest, then the same approach could be used to zone the 2023 presidency to the Southeast.

Pa Ayo Adebanjo said that although he does not like all the people that came out of the East as presidential aspirants, he is happy that people from the region have demonstrated that they have people that are up to the task, as opposed to the initial theory that the Southeast does not have competent people.

He advised them to go and unite because a house that is divided against itself cannot stand, so they must make compromises if they want to make a statement in 2023 general elections.
