Final four bidders to replace Abramovich as Chelsea owner confirmed

Raine Group, a US based investment bank, has whittled down all the interested parties in buying Chelsea Football Club to a shortlist of four.

According to The Athletic, the shortlisted bids are from Todd Boehly, David Blitzer and Josh Harris, the Ricketts family and Boston Celtics owner Stephen Pagliuca.

This comes a day after The Saudi Media Group was dropped by the American bank.

Raine Group communicated the decision to the group on behalf of Chelsea.

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC, has reacted angrily to the fracas involving Amb. Bianca Ojukwu, widow of late Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and wife of former Anambra Governor, Ebelechukwu Obiano. Hushpuppi did not commit any internet fraud from prison- US GOVT

The US government has dismissed claims that the detained Nigerian influencer Ramon Abbas, known as Hushpuppi, executed a $400,000 (£304,000) internet fraud from prison. Hushpuppi, 37, was arrested in the United Arab Emirates in 2020 for crimes that cost victims almost $24m and is currently in a US jail awaiting sentencing having pleaded guilty to money laundering. On Thursday, a document emerged on social media claiming that the FBI filed new evidence against Hushpuppi on Wednesday for defrauding Americans using prison internet facilities. It is not clear where the document originated from yet it has gone viral on Twitter and been reported by many news organisations. However, an official of the US Department of Justice says the US Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles, which filed the case against Hushpuppi, has not filed any such document. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has finally arrested Rochas Okorocha, an All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential aspirant. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says former Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra was being quizzed over the alleged misappropriation of N42 billion belonging to the state. An authoritative source in the EFCC disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja. The source said the former governor was being interrogated over the alleged misapplication of N5 billion Sure-P and N37 billion security vote, withdrawn in cash. According to the source, part of the funds was also allegedly diverted to finance political activities in the state. The Commission on Friday told NAN that the former governor was in its custody undergoing interrogation after his arrest on March 17. Obiano was arrested on Thursday at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos and brought to Abuja on Friday morning. The Commission said the former governor had not been released.
