My husband calls me snake from marine kingdom – Woman tells court

A married woman, Mrs Patience Ibrahim, on Thursday, dragged her husband, Mr Talpha Atega, before a Customary Court in Jikwoyi, Abuja, for allegedly calling her a ‘snake’.

In her complaint, Patience told the court that Atega often referred to her as “a snake from the marine kingdom”, aside from failing in the discharge of his responsibilities as a husband.

“My husband refused to take responsibility in the house as a husband and a father; I am the one doing everything – house chores, payment of house rent, feeding, and all others.

“When I talked to him about the matter, he would start insulting me; he said I am ‘a snake from the marine kingdom’”.

Earlier this week, it was reported that a 26 years old lady, whose name was given as Ugochukwu Nworie was found dead in a hotel room she was taken to at Abakaliki by some men, whose identities are not known. Information that was given made it known that the deceased came to the hotel in the company of some young men late on Monday night but, only for her to be declared missing by her friends the next morning when they did not see her and could not also get in touch with her. At the 2023 Oscars, Nigerian female artistes were dressed to impress. From the red carpet to the stage, they were dressed in stunning and glamorous ensembles that were sure to turn heads.
