Obama tests positive for COVID-19, Michelle negative

Barack Obama

Former U.S. President Barack Obama said on Sunday he had tested positive for COVID-19 and was feeling fine other than a scratchy throat.

“I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise,” Obama wrote on Twitter.

“Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative.”

Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, carpet FG By Ekene Obi Motorists and commuters were stranded along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday when some students, under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students, South-West zone, protested against the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities strike and the fuel scarcity in the country. Police rescue ‘kidnappers’ from jungle justice in Oyo

The Police Command in Oyo State has rescued two suspects, who allegedly attempted to kidnap a 9-year-old girl. The command made this known in a statement by its spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, on Monday in Ibadan. Osifeso said that the command’s operatives who were on patrol on Sunday, around Alakia Adelubi axis, Ibadan, at about 9.20 a.m. responded to a distress call on the “execution of jungle justice”. The suspects were alleged to have attempted to abduct a 9-year-old female, “Ope”, who was on her way to church. He said that preliminary investigations revealed that the girl was in the company of her mother, one Afolabi Modupe, and other siblings when the two suspects attempted to seize her from her mother’s grip.
