Kaduna govt confirms 34 killed, over 200 houses razed

The Kaduna State Government on Tuesday confirmed the killing of 34 persons, with several others injured in a violent attack in Kaura Local Government Area of the state.

DAILY POST reports that suspected gunmen had on Sunday, attacked Kagoro community, killed several people, including two military personnel.

Mr. Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, who confirmed the killing in a statement on Tuesday, said two military personnel lost their lives in the attack with several others injured.

He said security agencies have reported to the Kaduna State Government that after search operations and detailed checks, 34 people have been confirmed dead following Sunday’s attack on Kaura.

Strike continues as ASUU NEC fails to suspend action

The industrial action by members of the Academic Sftaff Union of Universities, ASUU, will continue as members of the National Executive Council, NEC, of the union did not consider the option of suspending the action at its meeting which ended in the early hours of Monday in Abuja. Checks by Vanguard showed that the national leadership of the union only briefed the meeting on their interactions and submissions made to the Prof. Nimi Briggs Committee set up the Federal Government to renegotiate the 2009 Agreement with the union. Bianca, wife of late Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, may have taken a slapping lesson from her late husband, if Reno Omokri’s suggestion is anything to take home.
