-
Image
We have followed up on reports making the rounds on certain developments bordering on the morals and ethics of some of the students under our care, who represented the school at the World School games, Dubai between 8 and 14 of March 2022. While we understand the emotions this has generated, we assure the public that our first approach as an institution was to assume parental roles by offering support to those involved and ensuring that nothing affected their senses of esteem. ASUU strike: Nwajiuba says FG working on alternative funding structure for universities The Nigerian government is currently working on proposals it can use to resolve the ASUU strike, including a new scheme in which universities implement a different way of earning funds. This was disclosed by Emeka Nwajiuba, former Minister of State for Education and a presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in an  interview  with Channels TV on Sunday. He stated that the implementation of alternative funding structures is a necessity for university autonomy. What the former minister is saying Nwajiuba apologised to Nigerian students for the continued strike, taking responsibility as their minister. “On behalf of the FG, we want issues to be understood. We have had nearly 15 strikes in 20 years. ASUU has a case, they are making a case for the entire university system,” he said. “The only problem is that we have asked ASUU that strikes can’t cure the problem....

Ukrainian president, Volodymr Zelensky said on Wednesday March 16, peace talks with Russia were becoming 'more realistic' but more time is needed for any deal to be in the interests of Ukraine.    Zelensky made the early morning statement after his team said a peace deal that will end Russia's invasion of Ukraine will be struck with Vladimir Putin within one or two weeks because Russian forces will run out of fresh troops and supplies by then.   'The meetings continue, and, I am informed, the positions during the negotiations already sound more realistic. But time is still needed for the decisions to be in the interests of Ukraine,' Zelenskiy said in a video address on Wednesday, ahead of the next round of talks.   Meanwhile, Oleksiy Arestovich, one of Zelensky's top aides, said the war would end within weeks and a peace deal struck when Putin's troops run out of resources.
