Four suspected armed robbers who have been terrorising Yenagoa

Four suspected armed robbers who have been terrorising Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, were on Wednesday, nabbed by the operatives of the Anti-kidnapping unit Bayelsa State Command.

DAILY POST, learnt that the suspected robbers were arrested during a sting operation by officers at the hideout of the gang, at Amarata Community, Yenagoa, on 22nd March 2022, at about 0630 hours.

A statement, issued to DAILY POST, on Wednesday through the Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, SP Asinim Butswat, said the four suspected armed robbers were arrested while one Makarov pistol, a locally made pistol, ammunition and a Barret with cult insignia were recovered from them

Police rescue ‘kidnappers’ from jungle justice in Oyo

The Police Command in Oyo State has rescued two suspects, who allegedly attempted to kidnap a 9-year-old girl. The command made this known in a statement by its spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, on Monday in Ibadan. Osifeso said that the command’s operatives who were on patrol on Sunday, around Alakia Adelubi axis, Ibadan, at about 9.20 a.m. responded to a distress call on the “execution of jungle justice”. The suspects were alleged to have attempted to abduct a 9-year-old female, “Ope”, who was on her way to church. He said that preliminary investigations revealed that the girl was in the company of her mother, one Afolabi Modupe, and other siblings when the two suspects attempted to seize her from her mother’s grip.
