EFCC bust hideout, arrest 29 internet fraudsters in Rivers

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt Zonal Office on Friday, arrested 29 suspected internet fraudsters.

The suspects were arrested at several hideouts in Nekede Road and Owerri Axis of Imo State.

A statement issued on the commission website stated that the suspects were arrested based on verified intelligence reports linking them with alleged fraudulent activities ranging from love scam on numerous dating sites, impersonation, and possession of fraudulent documents, picker and bitcoin scam.

The suspects were identified as Samuel Patrick, Brima Edegba, Kingsley Williams, Audu Emeka, David Godson, Alex James, Prince Akachukwu Nkemjika, Chidi Eze, Kizito Emenyonu, Wisdom Handsome Chibuenyim, Chibuike Mbonu, Christian Sorochi, Victory Oparanozie, Uche Alex, Kingsley Eke, Collins Williams and Charles Iwu.

ASUU strike: Nwajiuba says FG working on alternative funding structure for universities The Nigerian government is currently working on proposals it can use to resolve the ASUU strike, including a new scheme in which universities implement a different way of earning funds. This was disclosed by Emeka Nwajiuba, former Minister of State for Education and a presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in an  interview  with Channels TV on Sunday. He stated that the implementation of alternative funding structures is a necessity for university autonomy. Ukrainian president, Volodymr Zelensky said on Wednesday March 16, peace talks with Russia were becoming 'more realistic' but more time is needed for any deal to be in the interests of Ukraine.    Zelensky made the early morning statement after his team said a peace deal that will end Russia's invasion of Ukraine will be struck with Vladimir Putin within one or two weeks because Russian forces will run out of fresh troops and supplies by then.   'The meetings continue, and, I am informed, the positions during the negotiations already sound more realistic.
