British businessman Nick Candy is "actively exploring a number of options for a potential bid" to buy Chelsea.

Candy, a boyhood Chelsea fan, is trying to form a consortium with a number of international investors.

Roman Abramovich put the club up for sale last week amid the ongoing crisis in Ukraine following Russia's invasion.

Candy, 49, believes his background as a property developer could give him an advantage with any plans to rebuild Stamford Bridge.

One of the Nigerian top gospel singers, Tim Godfrey, has revealed the name of his fiancée, who accepted his proposal on Valentine’s Day. Tim shared pictures of himself and his wife-to-be, identified as Erica, on his Instagram page on Thursday. During the  engagement  announcement last month, the father-of-one had shared pictures of the proposal, where he concealed the face and identity of his future bride. In his latest post, the singer tagged her Instagram handle and shared photos of them in matching outfits. Strike continues as ASUU NEC fails to suspend action

The industrial action by members of the Academic Sftaff Union of Universities, ASUU, will continue as members of the National Executive Council, NEC, of the union did not consider the option of suspending the action at its meeting which ended in the early hours of Monday in Abuja. Checks by Vanguard showed that the national leadership of the union only briefed the meeting on their interactions and submissions made to the Prof. Nimi Briggs Committee set up the Federal Government to renegotiate the 2009 Agreement with the union. A source said the leadership also told the meeting about the intervention of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, in the matter and the subsequent nationwide solidarity rallies held by the Congress and its affiliates last week. “Since there is no sign of any serious commitment on the part of the government, there was no need for the NEC to consider suspending the strike. Bianca, wife of late Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, may have taken a slapping lesson from her late husband, if Reno Omokri’s suggestion is anything to take home. As DAILY POST well covered, drama ensued at the inauguration of Prof Chukwuma Soludo as the sixth Governor of Anambra State on Thursday. Wife of outgoing Gov. Willie Obiano, Ebelechukwu and Mrs Bianca Ojukwu engaged in a physical combat during the event.
