The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Saturday detained the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON) Osita Okechukwu.

Okechukwu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, was reportedly detained over a case of conspiracy, abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of ₦1.3 billion.

The VON D-G was said to have arrived the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Abuja at about 1.30 pm on Saturday to honour an invitation.

He was still with operatives of the agency as of the time of filing this report.

The EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the invitation of the VON chief executive but declined to provide further details.

The White Witches Association of Nigeria, WWAN, has cautioned Vice President Yemi Osinbajo against running for the Presidency in 2023. WWAN said God did not program Osinbajo to become Nigeria’s President in 2023; hence he would not win if he decided to contest. The spokesman of the witches and the former board member of the Edo State Traditional Council during the administration of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Dr Iboi Okhue, said God sent Osinbajo for a particular mission. Kaduna govt confirms 34 killed, over 200 houses razed

The Kaduna State Government on Tuesday confirmed the killing of 34 persons, with several others injured in a violent attack in Kaura Local Government Area of the state. DAILY POST reports that suspected gunmen had on Sunday, attacked Kagoro community, killed several people, including two military personnel. Mr. Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, who confirmed the killing in a statement on Tuesday, said two military personnel lost their lives in the attack with several others injured. He said security agencies have reported to the Kaduna State Government that after search operations and detailed checks, 34 people have been confirmed dead following Sunday’s attack on Kaura.
